Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 25th August 1918, in an attack near Biefvillers, Private Williamson was on duty as a Battalion runner and rendered conspicuously gallant service. He carried several messages under heavy fire, and materially assisted in keeping Battalion Headquarters in touch with the situation in front. Later on the 5th September 1918 during the attack on the enemy trenches in front of Neuville Bourjon, Private Williamson had to carry messages through a heavy enemy barrage to the forward Company. Throughout the
operations he set a splendid example of courage and devotion to duty.'
