Wounded in action, 12 September 1917; admitted to No.1 NZ Field Ambulance, 12 October 1917, and transferred to No.44 Casualty Clearing Station the same day (gunshot wound, face); to No.14 Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, 13 October 1917; to England, 15 October 1917; to No.1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 15 October 1917; discharged to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 10 November 1917.
