Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the field on the 26th and 27th of March 1918, north east of Mailly Malliet. Pte Bray showed great gallantry during two hours of heavy bombardment of his line in sticking to his Lewis gun, and at short
periods throughout the two hours worked his gun, with great effort on a number of the enemy who were concentrating in front of his position. He, when all but one other of his gun team were killed or wounded, stayed with his gun throughout two days and nights until his company was relieved.'
