Military Medal 'Operation, 15th September 1916. Switch Line south east of High Wood. This man is a battalion signaller and carried out the duties of linesman throughout the day, continually going up and down lines, and it was owing to his courageous work that communication was so well maintained with the front line throughout these operations. His subsequent work has also been marked by conspicuous valour and energy.'
