Embarked to join the British Expeditionary Force, France, 6 April 1916. Detached to 2nd Brigade Demonstration Platoon, in the field, 5 May 1917; rejoined Bn, 4 June 1917. Attached to NZ Wing, 2nd ANZAC Reinforcements Camp, 6 June 1917; rejoined Bn, 19 June 1917. On leave to United Kingdom, 29 July 1917; rejoined Bn, 10 August 1917. Killed in action, 12 October 1917. Body recovered from an isolated grave in 1921, and reinterred in Poelcapelle British Cemetery. Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal |
