Medals

Military Medal

'For conspicuous bravery. He is a stretcher bearer and did magnificent work in attending to wounded men and clearing the battlefield during the operations near Hebuterne, on the 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st March 1918. He worked in the open under continuous rifle and machine gun fire, and, by his utter disregard for danger and tremendous energy, there is no doubt that he saved many lives. This man's display of devotion to duty under exhausting and trying conditions cannot be too highly commended.'
