Military Medal 'Gallantry and devotion to duty. Lance Corporal Voyle in Flers Support Trench on the 30th September 1916, when a Company Bombing party was held up by an enemy Strong Point, worked a few men round the flanks in the open and sniped the enemy. This action required coolness, courage and dash and these qualities were shown by this Non-Commissioned Officer.'

He worked on to a flank alone and captured an enemy machine gun and two prisoners. His prompt and courageous action enabled the advance to proceed.'
