Military Medal 'At High Wood on the morning of the 15th September. After the Infantry had captured Switch Trench he laid wire across country from the Battery to an O.P. in that trench. He kept the wire intact during the whole day, having to go out on at least 12 occasions to repair it under heavy shellfire. His Battery was thus enabled to engage targets observed by the F.O.O. He was for a time buried but was extricated and continued with his work.'
