Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in action near Havrincourt Wood on 13th September 1918. During operations in the vicinity of Snap Reserve Trench the advance was
held up by the fire of two German machine guns. Lance-Corporal Turner with great daring rushed forward with his Lewis gun and though under very heavy fire he kept his gun in action and eventually silenced the enemy fire, thereby enabling his
Platoon to capture the position. His prompt action and complete disregard of danger undoubtedly saved the situation.'
