Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the operations against Bancourt on 30th August and 1st September and also at Grevillers on the 24th
August Pte Turnbull worked ceaselessly and untiringly as a company stretcher bearer. He attended to the wounded in the most exposed positions, and was carrying for many hours under fire without a moments respite.'
