Military Medal 'For continuous good work and devotion to duty. In his retirement in October and November the enemy, by destroying the roads and bridges, made the work of delivering rations to the troops in the line, a very difficult duty. Added to this he continually shelled any existing routes. R.Q.M.S. Tomsett by his courage and determination and devotion to duty, succeeded in delivering the rations with unfailing regularity, and his cheerfulness under the most trying conditions, greatly helped the men under his command. The way in which he worked to assist the men called from everyone the greatest praise.'
