Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty. At the Landing in Gallipoli he did especially good work under most trying conditions. Again in August he showed great bravery and devotion to duty in bringing in wounded under machine gun and Artillery fire. In the shelling of Armentieres on 29th May 1916 he showed great coolness and bravery in attending to the wounded.'
