Medals

Military Medal

'For gallantry in action near St Julien on 13th October 1917. While firing in the barrage, his gun was twice dislodged from its platform by enemy shell bursting alongside, the gun being thrown into the mud. Notwithstanding that he was badly shaken and partially gassed, he succeeded each time in getting his gun back into action. His dogged perserverance formed an excellent example to the remainder of the detachment.'
