Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 29th September 1918 in the attack on Bon Avis Ridge he came to a steep bank held by several enemy
machine guns. With little support he reached the bank capturing three guns in one nest and two in another. He showed great promptitude, coolness and disregard of danger.'
