Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while the battalion was holding the line near Kron Prinz Farm from the 14th October to 17th October 1917. He did excellent and courageous work as a runner for brigade headquaters and later, rejoining his unit, did futher excellent and daring work in carrying despatches and acting as the guide for the relieving unit under very severe enemy shelling. He has previously done most excellent work, especially during the operations at Gravenstafel on the 4th and 5th of October 1917.'
