Embarked Wellington, 10 October 1915; disembarked Suez, 15 November 1915. Admitted to NZ General Hospital, Abbassia, 7 December 1915 (rheumatism); transferred to NZ Convalescent Home, Helouan, 26 January 1916. Attached on strength, NZ Base Depot, Gizeh, 4 February 1916. Appointed Acting Sergeant with pay while employed in Records Office, Alexandria, 6 April 1916. Admitted to 15th General Hospital, 12 August 1916 (myalgia); transferred to British Red Cross Hospital, Montazah, 16 August 1916; discharged to duty, 31 August 1916. Found guilty, 16 September 1916, of improper conduct in that he removed private correspondence, the propery of a comrade named, Act/Sgt R.P. Clarke, perused same and withheld return for some ulterior purpose, on or about 16.9.16: reduced to permanent grade and returned to Details, services no longer required in Records Section. Marched out to Details, Moascar, 17 September 1916. Emabarked Alexandria for United Kingdom, 21 September 1916; marched in to 5th Reserve Bn, Camp Sling, 3 October 1916.
