Medals

Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the consolidation of a support line at Messines on the 7th June 1917. While in charge of a working party enemy shelling became unprecedentedly severe and for several hours consolidating was a dangerous task. Lance Corporal St George by his coolness and disregard of danger kept his men working and was an inspiration to them until the task was completed.'
