Military Cross 'Operations: Becelaere Sector, 9th December 1917 to 22nd February 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This officer has a splendid record of service and has at all times set a fine example to his men. He has shown himself to be a splendid leader and has commanded his Company with great success. He has demonstrated these splendid qualities of leadership both in trench warfare and in the attack, where his work has always been of a very high order. His work in the Somme offensive and in the operations at Messines called for great praise from his superior officers. By his personal example, he has rendered great service to this
