Military Medal 'For continuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations from 15th July to 12th September 1918. Rifleman Skett was a stretcher bearer in his Company and in the engagements at Miraumont, Fremicourt and east of Havrincourt Wood he performed very valuable service in tending and evacuating the wounded under
very heavy fire. At Havrincourt Wood in particular where he was wounded early in the operations he showed great resource in organising prisoners to replace his own men who had become casualties. He repeatedly returned through heavy fire until all the wounded were cleared.'
