Military Cross

'For continued good work and devotion to duty. During operations on the Somme 1st to 4th October, 1916, he worked continuously in the Advanced Aid Post without rest for 48 hours, then materially assisting the evacuation of wounded. This Officer has already performed meritorious work in Gallipoli, and the earlier operations on the Somme in September 1916, and has continued to carry on his excellent work as Adjutant to the II ANZAC Medical Officers School.'
