Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of Battalion, headquarters details. When all but two Company Officers had become casualties he reconnoitred the position under heavy fire and collected and reorganized the remainder of the Battalion, remaining in charge of the position for three days until the Battalion was relieved.'
