Meritorious Service Medal 'Operations Becelaere Sector: 9th December 1917 to 22nd February 1918. Devotion to duty. This NCO has done exceptionally good work both in and out of the line. When short of Officers in the Battery, he has carried out the duties of one. He is a thoroughly reliable fighting NCO, and his courage at the front and his ability to fight his guns have been marked. He has always set a splendid example to the Battery.'
