Disinguished Conduct Medal 'For marked gallantry and good work east of LE QUESNOY on 4th November, 1918. Early in the attack, when his platoon officer became a casualty, he took over command of the platoon, and led them admirably. His platoon inflicted many casualties on the enemy, and captured about two hundred prisoners and ten machine guns. Throughout the attack he displayed fine courage and leadership.'
