Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry during an attack. This officer, on his company commander being wounded, took charge and led the company to the final objective, showing great skill and ability as well as fine courage and devotion to duty under heavy enemy fire. After consolidation he was particularly active in patrolling.'
