Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in the field. On the 22nd October while the Battalion was holding the front line system in front of Kron Prinz Farm this man who is a Company Stretcher Bearer performed gallant and distinguished work in that capacity under a very heavy enemy bombardment. His work was carried out in full view of the enemy and his determination to perform his duties outweighed all thought of personal safety. He exposed himself to extreme dangers is a manner which inspired confidence in all around him. His work was a splendid example to devotion to duty.'
