Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry during the fighting near Colincamps on the 28th, 29th, 30th and 31st March 1918. He acted as 2nd bayonet man in 3 bombing attacks on the enemy trenches and did exceptionally good work, utterly regardless of danger, he rushed every German he saw, and, by good work with the bayonet and rifle, was responsible for the clearing up of 300 yards of enemy trench.'
