Military Medal 'Messines Offensive 7th to 9th June 1917. For gallantry and devotion to duty. He is a runner attached to Brigade Headquarters and showed great coolness and courage in passing backwards and forwards with his messages under very heavy
fire. His conduct has been of the highest standard and I cannot too highly recommend his devotion to duty.'
