Military Medal 'Operations: British front before Puisieux 14/15th August 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the attack it was chiefly due to the
courageous leadership of Sergeant Blakemore that 2 enemy machine guns and 12 prisoners were captured. With only three men he bombed an enemy post, rushed
it, shot the officer in command and captured the machine-guns and garrison. He then consolidated the captured position. Throughout the operations this NCOs. coolness and splendid leadership was a fine example to all ranks.'
