Military Medal This NCO performed excellent work during the fighting on the 8th and 9th August 1915 at Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli in carrying S.A.A. and attending to the wounded under heavy fire. He also carried water to the fighting men and wounded in the vicinity of Chunuk Bair. The country was very difficult there and the fighting particularly severe at this time. He was also present at the landing in April and in the action at Cape Helles in May and his devotion to duty during all of these actions has been particularly marked. |
