Embarked Wellington, 25 September 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 21 November 1916, and marched in to Reserve Group, Sling Camp.

Proceeded overseas to France, 7 January 1917; joined 1st Bn, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, in the field, 5 February 1917, and posted to A Company.

Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 29 March 1917 (mumps), and transferred to No 7 General Hospital, Amiens; rejoined Bn, in the field, 16 April 1917.

Killed in action, 7 June 1917.
