Military Cross 'For gallantry and consistent devotion to duty. During the period from 22/9/17 to 24/2/18 this Officer has commanded a Company with conspicuous success and ability. He led his Company in action near Gravenstafel on the 4th October 1917 with marked success, exercising fine judgement and personally acting with great gallantry. He has since performed his duties with consistent ability, and has always
proved a most reliable officer.'
