Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the operations near Bapaume on 27th August 1918, Private Quinn was with a working party which was being heavily shelled. He carried one man to safety. Under heavy fire he returned and brought another man in and then went out in search for others. His courage and devotion to duty on all occasions set an inspiring example to his comrades.'
