Mentioned in Despatches 'At Flers on 26th September 1916, this NCO at great personal risk made an important reconnaissance of enemy position in Flers Support Trench, and afterwards led a successful bombing attack with great coolness and gallantry, gaining a considerable length of the trench from the enemy.
