Military Medal 'Action before Bapaume on 29/30th August 1918. Whilst acting as Car Orderly he frequently took his car to the Advanced Bearer Relay Posts under heavy enemy
shell fire, the route being gassed on several occasions. He showed a fine judgment in protecting his patients from gas. He steadily and efficiently cleared his posts.'
