Meritorious Service Medal 'Operations Belle Vue Spur, 4th October to 20th October 1917, and Becelaere Sector, 9th December 1917 to 22nd February 1918. For devotion to duty. This NCO has rendered great service to his Battalion, and has set an admirable example of
devotion to duty. Owing to many changes in the Battalion, much responsibility has been thrown on this NCO and he has at all times kept the records of the Battalion in a thoroughly efficient manner. He has seen continuous service since 9th August
1914, and has served continuously as Staff Sergeant of this Battalion since its formation March 1st, 1916. His record of service is an admirable one, and he has set a splendid example of efficient and conscientious work.'
