Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At Crevecouer on 30th September 1918 he did exceptionally good work as a sniper, killing a number of the enemy who were trying to surround his section. After his section commander was killed he took command of the section and successfully repulsed the enemy counter attack. He showed great courage.'
