Military Medal

'Operations on Walsh and Bon Avis Ridges: 28th September to 1st October 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This NCO's Platoon was on 29th September, 1918, at La Vacquerie about 100 yards in front of which was a trench held by a German Post. He led his section round the flank of this trench up which they crawled and attempted to clear the post out by bombing. Being unsuccessful in this he returned arranged for covering fire of his Platoon's Lewis guns, with the assistance of which he rushed the post, killed 6 and captured 15 of the enemy. This NCO has previously done consistently good work.'
