Embarked Alexandria with unit to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, 12 April 1915. Admitted to HS 'Clacton', 2 June 1915, and transferred to HS 'Franconia' the same day (gonorrhoea); to No.19 General Hospital, Alexandria, 8 June 1915 (piles and bad cold); to Convalescent Camp, Alexandria, 28 June 1915; discharged to Australian Base Depot, Alexandria, 30 June 1915 (haemarrhoids and influenza). Proceeded overseas to the Dardanelles, 28 July 1915; rejoined unit, Anzac, 4 August 1915.
