War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Embarked Wellington, 16 October 1914; disembarked Alexandria, Egypt, 3 December 1914. Found guilty, 27 February 1915, of being absent from Tattoo Roll Call: awarded 5 days' confined to barracks. Returned to Egypt from hospital in Malta, 11 June 1915, and marched into 4th Training Battalion, Zeitoun, the same day (venereal). Proceeded overseas to the Dardanelles, 16 June 1915; rejoined unit, Anzac, 22 June 1915. Died, No.2 Australian General Hospital, Mudros, 23 July 1915 (sycope due to dysentery).
