Military Medal 'Operations: between Messines and Warneton 14th and 15th June 1917. This NCO displayed great courage and determination in leading his men forward under very
heavy fire. All his section became casualties. He then took command of his platoon in which all senior NCO had become casualties, and in spite of heavy opposition organised them, dug in and consolidated the ground taken.'
