Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on Passchendaele Ridge on 12th October 1917. Under extremely, heavy machine-gun, and occasionally heavy
shell fire, he worked continuously throughout the day and was instrumental in getting many wounded men to the Aid Post. His fine work undoubtedly saved a
number of lives.'
