Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 29th September 1918, near La Vicquerie while doing duty is a Runner, Private O'Connor delivered most important messages to forward troops during the attack and under very heavy enemy shell and machine gun fire. Later on the same day when the final objective had been gained he continued to go forward from Company Headquarters under an intense enemy barrage with messages. His utter disregard of personal danger, and his cheerful spirit were of an exceptional high order.'
