Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At the assault on Belle Vue Ridge on October 12th, this man was a Platoon runner. He made three successive runs with despatches from Platoon Headquarters immediately below an enemy strong point and inside the enemy wire to Battalion Headquarters, a distance roughly of 300 yards, carrying messages of vital importance to the success of the operation in
