Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the whole of the operations extending from 29th September to 3rd October against enemy
positions east of Ribecourt and east of Harcourt. Pte Naden who is a Battalion runner, did continuous and gallant work in this capacity. On at least three occasions he delivered messages of the most vital importance, passing on each occasion through enemy shell fire of such intensity as to make it seemingly impossible for anyone to escape it. He undertook these errands alone and with a knowledge, that it was extremely likely that he would become casualties. It was
only a grim determination to carry out his mission that enabled him on each occasion to successfully carry out what was asked of him. His courage and fine sense of duty is second to none.'
