Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on and subsequent consolidation of the New Front Line at Messines on June 7th and 8th,
1917. This stretcher bearer worked in charge of bearer parties for 30 hours without rest. He was tireless, and during that period inspired party after party to continue in bringing in of wounded.'
