'Lieutenant Moore transferred from the New Zealand Pioneers to N.Z.F.A., on the formation of the Trench Mortar Batteries, and was given command of the Z Battery. This Officer never spared himself and on every occasion behaved in a most courageous manner, on many occasions observing his fire from "No Man's Land" .
