Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On the 24th July 1918, in the Rossignol Wood Sector, north of Hebuterne, when his Battalion was advancing line by bombing down saps, Corporal Moore finding it impossible to cut quickly
enough through the wire which blocked the trench, decided to rush overland in spite of machine gun fire; he put the machine gun out of action and captured it thereby enabling the remainder of the party to push forward without casualty. On the 25th July when the enemy counter attacked our newly won positions, Corporal Moore showed great coolness during the heavy preliminary bombardment, keeping his men together, although himself wounded in the ear, until the enemy troops attacked, when he showed ready decision and set to his section a good example of coolness and decision.'
