Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. The battery was very heavily shelled, and the whole of one detachment became casualties. He at once went to
the gun pit under fire and assisted in removing the wounded. He showed total disregard of personal safety, and set an excellent example to his men under heavy fire.'
