Military Medal 'I beg to bring before your notice the gallant conduct displayed by 2/612 Sergt Wilson H.F., 2/332 Bomb Mole H.P., both of 12 Battery, and 2/392 Gunner Fleming R.I. of 3rd Brigade Headquarters Staff on the evening of the 23rd May, 1916. During a heavy bombardment by the enemy of the area C 26 a 2 2 1/2 the communications between the Batteries and Group Headquarters were cut and the above named NCOs and men volunteered to repair same. It was while carrying out these duties that all three were wounded, Gunner Fleming seriously, and I would submit their names for some recognition for their gallant behaviour.'
