Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and daring as Patrol Leader during the withdrawal of the enemy on the Ploegsteert Sector on the 17/18th June 1917. On the night of 17/18th June Lance Corporal Moffit led his patrol, and with great daring and coolness
reconnoitred the ground on a front of 1,500 yards to a depth of 900 yards beyond our outposts. While still in "No Man?s Land" he sent back two men with a written report containing valuable information. He then led his remaining five men into the Strong Point at Pont Ridge and established touch with the enemy who showed considerable activity.'
